Michael James Cullen - RIP

February 7th 1943 to January 2nd 2019

An Obituary

The Announcement recently posted on the website concerned  my brother Michael (Nod) who will be sadly missed by Lynne and I .For many years he was our Doorman at East Grinstead Club nights and a regular visitor to the various rallyfields.

Michael and I enjoyed visiting Motor Cycle and Motorsport events around the countryside, we went to various Airshows and it was me that introduced him to Stock Car racing.

He then moved away to get married and had two sons who have since produced three grandchildren.

Mike and myself had latterly both worked at the same factory complex for Mullards then Philips Electronics albeit in different departments. But never far away.

When his marriage was dissolved he came to lots of events with Lynne and I. We certainly enjoyed many of the same interests including photography.

In his early teenage years he was a member of the Boy’s Brigade and went away camping each year. His first time away was to Dorset ( Corfe Castle) via the railway From East Grinstead to Swanage and then  March to the Castle camp site at Corfe. North Wales was another venue he enjoyed but was never to keen on the burnt custard the Welsh chef served up.

In more  recent years he  enjoyed our coach trips with his travelling companion-  Peggy, by his side.

Unfortunately in the latter part of 2018 he was suffering with progressive cancer and pneumonia. Lynne and I nursed him as much as we could until he finally passed away on January 2nd 2019 in Redhill Hospital.

R I P Brother.

Alan and Lynne Cullen.
